The Training Provider Examination Certification Scheme (TPECS) has been established to reflect contemporary learning and assessment practices, industry expectations and, above all, demonstrate that applicants achieve the level of competence required for RABQSA personnel certification.
TPECS aims to provide training and assessment in defined competencies and, as appropriate, recommend competent graduates to RABQSA for recognition at Provisional Auditor grade.
This ensures:
- Improved assessment and evidence of competence;
- A more effective and efficient personnel certification process; and
- Greater involvement of training providers in the personnel certification process.
Scheme Objectives
Confidence and reliance in the audit process depends on the competence of personnel. The objectives of the RABQSA Training Provider Examination Certification Scheme are to ensure that:
- Any person applying for certification as a management system auditor has the necessary competence to perform that role, irrespective of how these competencies have been acquired;
- Competencies are examined by competent workplace examiners as part of a formal examination process;
- Persons who are not yet competent are offered training in a form that suits the individual needs of the person; and
- Persons who are examined as competent are given the opportunity to be certified by RABQSA as Provisional Auditors without re-applying directly to RABQSA.
Scheme Scope
Certified training provider recognition is offered to organizations with the capability to provide flexible training and examination against the competency standards defined in the Scheme. These competency standards are used as part of the examination process for certification as a management system auditor with RABQSA.
Training Providers may seek certification to provide training and assessment services for one or all of the competency units identified by RABQSA.
Scheme Implementation
Training Providers seeking certification will be required to meet the requirements of the RABQSA TPECS Criteria.
Training Providers who meet the certification requirements will be able to recommend to RABQSA that competent graduates be awarded Provisional certification. |
