The ISO 50001 Auditor Certification Scheme has been developed by RABQSA, in conjunction with the ISO 50001 Sub Scheme Committee, to provide international recognition for auditors who conduct Energy Management Systems (EnMS) audits, using International or National Standards, regulatory requirements, or other Standards and normative and industry reference, in the following sectors:
- Commercial Buildings
- Buildings - Complex Energy Use
- Light to Medium Industrial
- Heavy Industrial
- Transportation
- Energy Supply
The scheme is designed to ensure that RABQSA Certified ISO 50001 Auditors meet or exceed the requirements defined by RABQSA and the ISO 50001 Auditor Sub Scheme Committee.
At a minimum, all auditors obtaining certification in the scheme will have demonstrated their knowledge of the ISO 50001 Standard and their ability to assess the conformance of an energy management system to ISO 50001, including, assessing energy performance, identifying, discrepant situations, identifying opportunities to enhance energy performance, and communicating and justifying audit results both verbally and in a written report to the client.
