Maintaining Your Certification

RABQSA personnel certification programs provide business, industry and employers with confidence in the competence of RABQSA certificated personnel.

To ensure your skills and competence remains up to date with changing industry trends and developments, you are required to re-certify within your certification period. This will ensure continued professional recognition of these skills, which will enhance your career prospects and make you more marketable to organizations requiring the services of experienced and credible personnel.

The re-certification period and requirements vary for both competency and qualification based schemes.

There are slightly different requirments for each Industry Scheme so please check the criteria for the relevant scheme.

Competency Based Personnel Certification (ISO 17024)
Payment of an annual fee is required to keep your certification current.
Every four years from the date of initial certification and each subsequent re-certification, certified personnel must demonstrate continuing compliance with the current certification criteria by providing:

  • Evidence of examination of skills competencies by an RABQSA Examiner appropriate to the type and grade of certification;
  • Evidence of evaluation of personal attributes by completion of the RABQSA PAAS MasterĀ® evaluation;
  • Confirmation that the Code of Conduct has been adhered to and any complaints against performance have been resolved.

Qualification Based Personnel Certification
Payment of an annual fee is required to keep your certification current.
Re-certification is required every three years from the anniversary date of initial certification. RABQSA will provide reminders with the annual invoice to all certified personnel when the date for re-certification is due and the information required. Requirements for re-certification include submission of the following documentation:

  • Evidence of continuing auditing experience (not required for Associate Auditors);
  • Evidence of continuing professional development; and
  • Confirmation that the RABQSA Code of Conduct has been adhered to and any complaints against performance have been resolved

Each certified auditor should maintain an audit log and a professional development record for recording details of audits and professional development activities undertaken.
